Public Health Information


Partners in Family Health, PC will always provide reliable, current and unbiased health care information and materials to allow our patients to be proactive in their care. Numerous brochures and pamphlets are available on-site free of charge. Two wall posters in our reception area offer a wide variety of health education tips, and are updated monthly. An educational television in the reception area features pertinent healthcare information, recipes, and reminders.

WebMD offers quality, comprehensive health resources for consumers, doctors and nurses. The site includes news, chat forums, health quizzes and consumer product updates, as well as an on-line Personal Health Record.

Mayo Clinic

Here you will find clear and accurate information in many useful categories. The site offers a ‘Drugs and Supplements’ section that allows you to search alphabetically (helpful if you are unsure how to spell a word) for prescription or over-the-counter drugs. There are easy-to-understand treatment guides for common illnesses/injuries.

PRIMED Patient Education Center

PRIMED has health information drafted by Harvard Medical School and targeted to consumers. They offer many brochures on common diseases and conditions.

Aligning Forces for Quality

AF4Q provides up-to-date resources (videos, downloadable tip sheets, events, etc) and easy to understand information for all audiences within the health care system.

American Heart Association

Their monthly newsletters provide the latest news and advice on all aspects of heart health, including heart attack, cholesterol, arrhythmia, blood pressure, peripheral artery disease, healthy diets and much more.

National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases

This site offers easy-to-read pieces, many offered in ‘What I Need to Know’ format. Topics include diabetes, hepatitis, colon polyps, irritable bowel syndrome, peptic ulcers, kidney stones, prostate problems, urinary tract infections, and many more.

The CDC offers reliable health information on Diseases and Conditions, Emergencies and Disasters, Environmental Health, Healthy Living, Injury, Violence and Safety, Life Stages and Populations, Travelers’ Health, Workplace Safety, and more.

National Institutes of Health (NIH)

This site provides current, accurate and well-organized patient health information. Users can choose a variety of ways to search for information on diseases, conditions and symptoms.

NIH’s National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine

This area of the site gives information on dietary supplements, alternative therapies and treatments, as well as fact sheets on the different approaches.

Lab Tests Online

This site has non-commercial, patient-centered information on a huge variety of clinical lab tests by tests, conditions or diseases and life-stage screening. The information is provided in multiple languages.

Vaccine Information

Vaccine Information offers comprehensive, easy-to-understand vaccine information and mandates. Links on the home page address public concerns about vaccine safety.

This site provides tools and useful information on pregnancy, birthing and parenting in an engaging ‘pop culture’ format and style.

Kids Health
